Shampoo hair twice with KeraStraight Pre-Treatment Cleanser to open up the hair cuticles and soften the hair in readiness for the treatment. Pre-Treatment Cleanser has a pH of 6.5, which is slightly higher than the hair’s natural pH of 4.5 - 5.5. This is the ideal pH to gently open the cuticles without dehydrating the hair. Pre-Treatment Cleanser is positively charged (cationic) which helps combat the hair’s negative charge (anionic). The more damaged the hair, the greater the greater the anionic charge.
Gently towel dry, then comb through section by section to fully understand the hair, analysing the hair’s porosity and weakness.
Look for
- Weak & dry hair
- Strength of curl
- Areas that are already drying out
Apply Pre-Treatment Spray Plus in sections (starting at the nape) and comb through. Concentrate on the most porous areas. Do not dry in.
Pre-Treatment Spray Plus regulates the moisture/protein balance of the hair with low pH (3.5) proteins to ensure even penetration of the treatment.
